Guided Walking Holidays on the St. Cuthberts Way Trek

""
Walking through the Scottish Borders and Northumberland in North East England

The St Cuthberts way trek is a 62 mile trail starting at the Scottish border town of Melrose. We then traverse attractive and varied countryside encompassing the purple clad hills and valleys of the Cheviots and the Border regions to eventually arrive at the holy island of Lindisfarne, off the Northumberland coast.

The trail is named after a 7th century saint, Cuthbert, who was a native of the borders and spent his life in the service of God and the Church, begining his work at Melrose Abbey and eventually achieving the status of Bishop. When he died he was buried on Holy Island, being called a Saint when, eleven years later his coffin was opened and his perfectly preserved body was revealed.
