The English Lake District is the home and birthplace of British
rock climbing, justly famous for its beautiful lake scenery and
dramatic, moody, mountain back drops; the fells and mountains are
festooned with acres of vertical rock which are criss crossed with
hundreds of different rock climbs. These range from easy scrambles
to the overhanging hero routes mere mortals' only dream about!
This week we travel to a varied selection of crags throughout Lakeland
to climb the great classic routes established by some of the legends
in climbing folklore, in an era where modern ropes, sticky boots
and protection equipment didn't exist.
Your ascents of the routes will be guided by qualified, highly
experienced, empathic instructors; who will ensure both your safety
and enjoyment each day. There will also be plenty of opportunity
to learn much about the techniques of this exhilarating sport.
Included in the course price:
- 3* hostel accommodation
- all meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner
- all specialist equipment, harness, helmet, rock boots etc
- qualified, experienced instructor/guides
- train, bus, or airport transfer from Newcastle or Penrith
- maximum guide to client ratio of 1:2
