Our winter skills course covers the multitude of disciplines
required to take on the harsh environment of our mountains in the
grip of winter.
We will spend time learning the arts of:
- Winter navigation
- Snow profiles
- Avalanche awareness
- Ice axe arrest
- Cramponing techniques
- Basic winter climbing up to grades 2 - 3
- Abseiling
- Retrievable Anchors
- Snow belays
- Anchor point selection
- Ropework
- Snowholing & survival skills
We meet at Fort William rail or coach station and we stay in Glencoe,
a magical, mystical, haunting valley in North West Scotland, home
to some of the best winter climbing to be had in Britain.
This course is fully inclusive Comprising:
- Accommodation
- Meals
- All incourse transport
- All specialist equipment
- All instruction
- Transfers to and from Fort William
- 3rd party insurance
